Particularly ironic considering the Japanese were the only ones who had officially adopted a "targeting surface combat vessels with submarines" doctrine - the biggest fish their subs caught, to my knowledge, was the already-limping Yorktown. But a significant chunk of the reason why they were added in the first place was because they WERE listening to their players, and more importantly, to prospective future players - just not to the players whose opinions align with your own.Īlso, while the braindead patriotard wording of the above post utterly disgusts me, yes - there were actually an astonishingly large number of Japanese warships sunk by submarine torpedoes, including battleships (Kongou sends her regards). Sure, the way Wargaming has chosen to implement them has caused a significant rift in the playerbase, and it probably could've been done a lot better. Hell, just yesterday there was somebody announcing they were uninstalling because their nation of choice DIDN'T have submarines yet.
